Organise a Trouble Free Baby Shower

There is a simple solution that will allow you to juggle many different tasks at once. You can ease the pressure and tension by doing and following your baby shower to do list.

Don’t make a mess out of this very important day. If you are hosting the shower, make sure that you got everything well-thought out and organized.

You have been thoroughly planning for this day. You are sure that you got everything you need. But come baby shower day, you realized that you forgot your baby shower cake. Ooops! Major blunder! Don’t let this happen to your party. Prepare a list so you won’t leave out any detail. Take all you can from the sample list below:

Two months prior to the party

  • Settle on the final date of the party
  • Budget and number of invitees should be finalized
  • Complete your guest list but discuss this with the expecting mother first
  • Decide on the location, and style or theme of the party
  • Reserve your venue if you are not going to throw a party in someone’s home
  • Tie up and finalize your menu (including your cake, food, and drinks)
  • Determine what you are going to do for the baby shower (activities and games)
  • Prepare and create your invitations
  • Send the invitations to your guests

Three weeks prior to the party

  • Confirm all your reservations
  • Call up your restaurant or caterer to confirm and complete your menu
  • Finalize your program (games, activities, surprises, more)
  • Purchase and wrap your prizes, gifts, and favors
  • Secure your camera
  • Order your cake
  • Order your tables, chairs, tablecloth, napkins, and other utensils if your venue is not at the hotel or restaurant
  • Buy all your decorations including the balloons, banner, confetti, ribbons, and more
  • Have your banner or streamer made
  • Decide on the gift for the expecting mom

 A week prior to the party

  • Call the guests so you can get the accurate guest count
  • Clean the party area if you are not reserving a venue
  • Order your food and drinks
  • Purchase the gift for the expecting mom
  • Set a time schedule for your activities
  • Print out everything that you need to print (menu, table assignments, activities, etc)
  • Transportation for the expecting mom
  • Prepare the list of songs to play
  • Check all your equipment

 A day prior to the party

  • Make final preparations on the party venue (clean and decorate, add finishing touches, set up the tables and chairs, placing extra garbage bags, buy ice)
    Buy the food and drinks
  • Prepare everything you need for your activities
  • Put up street signs for visitors to locate the area
  • Prepare cash for tips (optional)
  • Don’t forget the camera
  • Have your cake delivered or pick it up
  • If you are cooking the food, now would be the time to start
  • Go over your list one more time and see if you have covered everything

Party Day

  • Finish setting up the place (decors, utensils, tables, chairs, food, drinks)
