If you have a Facebook profile chances are that you often get bombarded with friend requests from many people who you probably think of as acquaintences rather than true friends, people you may not be comfortable sharing all your personal information with! Fortunately there’s a solution in the form of limited profiles. In this guide i’ll be showing you how to set one up.
Steps to hide your Facebook data
1. The first thing to do is decide who you want to see what; then we’re going to make a list to put them all in- which i’m going to call “Limited Profile” for simplicity. From your Facebook homepage, click on “Friends”, then on the friends page click “Create a List”.
2. In the pop up box that appears enter the name you have chosen for your list and click to select which friends you wish to add. Click “Create List”.
3. Click on “Account” >>>> “Privacy Settings” then click on “Profile Information”.

4. In this window you can control who see’s each area of you profile data independently. Click on the blue arrow next to the words “Only Friends” to change each ones settings.

5. Select “Customize” in the drop down list that appears

6. In the Custom Privacy dialog box that appears, type the name of your list (in this example “Limited Profile”) in the Hide This From box.

7. Click “Save Setting”.
8. Repeat these steps for each section of profile information you wish to hide from the people in your list.
That’s It! Job done!
In the future if you want these settings to apply to anyone else you are friends with simply add them to your list!
